Stakeholder & Community Engagement

  • Responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Project Communications & Engagement Strategy and the maintenance of the Stakeholder Register.
  • Maintain an active risk and opportunity register on each project.
  • To manage and co-ordinate the communications and engagement consultant and dedicated Project Community Liaison Officer and to oversee the planning, coordination and recording of all stakeholder engagement (political, governmental, technical, business, neighbouring community and landowner stakeholders).
  • To represent the business at stakeholder meetings, accompanied by the technical team members as required.
  • To work closely with the Project Manager and be the first point of contact with the relevant communities and their representative groups.
  • Oversee the organisation of engagement activities and consultation events and attend same.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a community gain strategy to promote sustainable communities and bring tangible benefits to the community pre-consent and before, during and after the construction phase.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of the project’s community benefit funds in collaboration with local communities and community investment specialists.
  • To manage the recording of stakeholder engagement activities and to manage and coordinate the preparation of any required reporting for internal and external purposes.
  • Provide advice and assistance to the Fishery Liaison and Landowner Liaison Teams as required.
  • Input to industry level consultation responses and position papers as necessary
  • Flexibility to travel to project sites as required
  • Provide general support to the wider Offshore team as required


  • To work closely and collaboratively with the wider communications and engagement team.
  • To ensure all project messaging used is approved and meets corporate governance standards and ensure that consistent terminology and messaging is used by the project team when engaging with third parties.
  • To ensure that all project communications and engagements follow best wind industry practice and maintain the company’s reputation
  • Act as project spokesperson for all media enquiries.

What are we looking for in a Stakeholder & Engagement Manager?


  • Experience of managing stakeholder and community engagement activities for a regional or national scale project with a minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in the communications sector
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to positively and proactively engage with a variety of stakeholders and community members and build lasting relationships.
  • Experience of organising and managing stakeholder and community meetings.


  • Experience of renewable energy projects (offshore / onshore wind)
  • Experience as a project spokesperson/media relations
  • Experience in the promotion and implementation of community benefit funds and sustainable communities.
  • Ability to think creatively and be solution-focused
  • Ability to travel and attend events/ meetings at short notice
  • Full, clean driving licence
