This is an initial 1-year contract, with potential for permanent thereafter.
Why apply for this role?

- Work on high-profile solar and wind projects from early development through to operation
- Join an award-winning employer recognised for ESG, social sustainability, responsible business and Women in STEM
- Over 85% of employees recommend this company as a great place to work
- Attractive salary and benefits package, including generous annual leave, flexible working, pension, family health insurance and bonus
- Strong opportunity for long-term career progression and permanent employment
The opportunity
Reporting to the Community Engagement & Communications Manager, you’ll be at the heart of how renewable energy projects connect with the communities around them. This is a highly visible, outward-facing role where you’ll balance relationship-building on the ground with creating clear, engaging communications across multiple platforms.
No two days look the same – one day you could be meeting local stakeholders on site, the next drafting consultation materials, organising community events or shaping project communications. Travel across Ireland is a core part of the role, with occasional overnight stays.
What you’ll be doing
You will:
- Act as the trusted, on-the-ground point of contact for communities surrounding renewable energy projects
- Build strong relationships with residents, community groups, businesses and locally elected representatives
- Deliver best-practice community engagement, ensuring queries, feedback and concerns are handled clearly and professionally
- Create and manage engaging communications content, including newsletters, project updates, website copy, consultation reports, media releases and social posts
- Organise and attend community information events, public meetings and local engagements
- Support community benefit funds and near-neighbour payment schemes
- Contribute to planning applications by drafting community consultation and engagement reports
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent, transparent communications across projects
About you
You’re someone who enjoys being out in the community as much as crafting a well-written piece of communications. You’re confident dealing with a wide range of stakeholders and comfortable balancing diplomacy, clarity and empathy.
You’ll bring:
- A relevant qualification in Communications, PR, Marketing, Media or Stakeholder Engagement
- Experience in a community-facing, stakeholder engagement or communications role
- Strong writing skills, with experience creating content across digital and print channels
- Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, construction or large-scale development projects
- A full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle, with flexibility to travel nationwide
It’s a bonus if you also have:
- Experience handling public queries or complaints
- Experience organising information sessions or PR events
- Strong networking skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects
